Quick note: I’m merging all Audio Sampler–related feature requests into this thread to keep everything in one place. This was one of the earliest feedback posts and has become the de facto hub. Please keep the feedback coming, Thanks everyone!
Nikolozi Awesome & hope to find time soon to revisit Mela with all its recent additions, to contribute in detail. A sample module would be a big step up for Mela. First ideas(additions: - Modulation options - Multimode filter with ADSR envelope (or tight integration of existing modules) - Playback speed (Half/double, etc.) - Timestretch / BPM adjustment - Granular playback
Ability to use input for live-sampling would be amazing. Polyphonic playback, play head direction selection, crossfade of the sample.
Bumping because I'd really like to see this in Mela!
Ziru I want to see this too! Just to let you know, I may not be able to get to it just yet, I have quite a few big feature tasks to complete first.
Nikolozi Ah. That's fine! I'm eager to see what awaits with Mela 6
Ziru I'm assuming you are talking about a single sample sampler and not a multi-sampler (as that's a whole another big thing :) )? If yes, maybe I'll merge this request with a similar feature request here: https://mela-feedback.nikolozi.com/feature-requests/p/use-of…
Nikolozi Yes! A single-sample sampler was what I was talking about. Looking forward to seeing what you'll do!
A simple one shot sample player with cents and - 24 to +24 pitch parameter would open so much possibilities!
Yes, that would great.
Nikolozi: Mela5 or Mela6. By the way i am super excited how mela4 is performing and most of all sounding! Plus learning a ton about modular!
Hubert-Jan Hubeek: haha, yeah, it's hard to say when I'll do sampler or granular style features. Because I have a few much higher-priority features I need to do first. And it's awesome to hear you like Mela 4. I hope it makes modular approachable to everyone.
An always recording feature, so you can capture the last x bars, as an example, ableton note does this great for midi.
