The feature should be available in build 228. Node Pad Module: - Introducing a new module for simple note-taking. - It serves as a tool for describing presets or jotting down session notes. - The module supports limited Markdown features for text formatting: regular, bold, italic, strikethrough, monospaced, and links. - Artists creating and distributing Mela presets can utilise it to provide detailed information about how to best use the preset, along with links to their websites and social media. - The Note Pad module is part of Collection 3. Video Demo: https://x.com/Nikolozi/status/1768276041687040043?s=20 I'm not in love with the Note Pad name, let me know if you have good suggestions.
Nikolozi yay! I like it. I especially appreciate the markdown support, including labeled link syntax! Nice touch. Possible alternatives to the Note Pad module name: Comments, Remarks, Description, Text Box, ReadMe
Might be interesting to consider making this module resizable. I can imagine stretching one across an entire lane for a big banner at the top of the patch.
... and of course I'd like to see even more markdown support, like H1/H2 headings, HR separator lines, bullet lists, etc. But this is already better than any other option I'm aware of like Session Notes AU. I'll probably end up using it even in situations where I'm not using Mela for anything else, just so I can have notes that display automatically when loading an AUM session.
Jon Diercks Agreed, would be a good idea. I'm thinking at some point I will add general capability where some modules will have a button to expand their views larger. Like how Ableton Live does for some of its devices like Spectrum and Sampler. A few other modules could also use expanded views.
Jon Diercks Yes, I do plan to add support for other markdown features. Like, lists and checkboxes would be great. At the moment Apple APIs made it easy enough to support those limited features. But eventually, I'll expand to support most standard markdown features.
Jon Diercks oh and one of the reasons I did this a bit sooner is because Logic Pro for iPad doesn't have the Note Pad feature as the Mac version does. Which I use it extensively. So, I'll replace it with this :)
Jon Diercks: > Possible alternatives to the Note Pad module name: Comments, Remarks, Description, Text Box, ReadMe I need the name to be general enough, so the user can use it for anything. I kind of like Text Box, it also sounds general enough. (Also, the user can rename an instance of the module to anything. So they could name it "Preset Description" if they wanted to).
Nikolozi agree!
Man, I'm happy you are creating these :) I have a bunch of notes/requests I planning to migrate here eventually, but your posts are starting to cover a few of them.
Nikolozi: cool, good to know that there are others wanting similar things.
