Nikolozi: yep! All works!
Eugen Strukov: Sweet, thanks for letting me know.
I'm back to looking into this issue. I'm able to reproduce it consistently now. And another user had a frustrating experience, so I'm prioritising it again. So, hoping to have it fixed in 4.1. If you are a Logic user on a Mac and Mela fails to validate, simply check the Use column in Logic's plug-in manager. Mela 4 should work fine. It's been tested extensively in Logic during the beta period. And, I think the validation failure is caused by a workaround I put in to deal with Logic Pro not being able to handle dynamic parameter trees of plug-ins (Mela 4 exposes different parameters to Logic Pro based on a preset).
Eugen Strukov can you please try build 85 from TestFlight? I made a minor tweak, which should reduce Logic's validation failure. It doesn't solve it 100%, because it might be a significant amount of work, which I will address eventually. But at least this should reduce failures for most users. After installing build 85, in Logic's plug-in manager select "Reset & Rescan" for Mela 4 and see if it validates. (p.s. looks like auval tries to test the plug-in parameters while Mela is still loading a preset and looks like that's what is causing the issue. There's a race condition happening.)
Nikolozi: still not validated. I reload all plugins, reboot notebook… but mela plugin works fine without validation.
Eugen Strukov: I think in Mela 4.2 Logic Pro validation should be stable, as there were a few more changes that should have fixed the remaining issues. Can you please try it out with Mela 4.2 and let me know?
Eugen Strukov it doesn't look like the issue I thought it was. I have to run auval many times to get it to fail on my Mac. Is it always failing on your mac? Are you able to validate it and use it inside Logic?
Nikolozi: in this time I can’t test it. Last time it’s not validate but fully works in logic.
Eugen Strukov: ok good to know. Since you are able to use it I'll deprioritise the issue for now. And investigate it deeper a bit later.
Thanks for posting this issue here, I think I know why it's failing to validate in Logic. Should be able to fix in the 4.1 update.
Marking this complete. If you still have issues please leave a comment.
